Dry eye – definition

The definition of dry eye as a multifactorial disease (multi-causal), characterized by a loss of homeostasis (balance) of the tear layers. Accompanied by symptoms of the ocular surface. Such as instability of the tear surface, characterized by hyperosmolarity, by inflammation and by damage to the cells on the ocular surface and by sensory impairment of the ocular surface. Regarding the tear layer:
